Wired News: Drug Problem? Try a Brain Dump: "An Australian company hopes to change that by creating a gigantic, international, standardized database of neurological information that can be held up as a benchmark next to individual patients.
'Before anybody goes into one of our labs, they go on the website and fill out questionnaires (with their) demographic information, including things like early childhood trauma, age, gender, drinking, eating habits,' said Dan Segal, commercial director of Brain Resource.
Then patients go into the lab where they undergo tests like MRIs and EEGs to determine the physical functioning of their brains. With patients' consent, about 50 researchers around the globe now enter information about the function, structure and genetics of patients' brains into the database. "
